Copperleaf

This average-sized leaf succulent grows up to 31 feet (9.4 meters) tall. The sickle shaped stem is copper, and is covered in lots of fine, orange, hair-like spines. The rounded leaves are generally turquoise. Sparse amounts of them grow on stocky, copper branches that trail down towards the ground. The leaves are delicate, but easily come away when pulled.

It is slow growing, taking 6 years to reach maturity. Once mature, several flowers with each petal a slightly different shade of amber grow at the top, reappearing once every 3 years. The flower head is made up of 7 petals in raised layers. It has a scent whose strength depends on external factors, such as soil quality and rain frequency that smells like cinnamon.

The leaf succulent's skin is thick, the pastel red flesh is rubbery, and the grey sap is thin and causes upset stomachs if consumed.
