Goldenleaf Tree

This small tree grows up to 2 meters (6.6 feet) tall and lives for centuries, with the oldest known specimen being around 395 years old. It is susceptible to disease and destructive insect infestation.

It has a very thick, straight trunk covered in wrinkled, yellow-brown bark, and inside, the very dense wood is light brown.

The thick clumps of branches are short, rigid and upright and are covered with sparse amounts of leathery, small, stiff, pointed leaves with smooth edges. The leaves themselves are found in gold, pale purple and silver varieties.

In late summer it forms small, vivid orange, winged seeds that spin and fall nearby.

The roots are thick and spread across the surface, as well as underground, and overall the tree is rigid and brittle.

Forests of this species feature the trees packed together, with the space between them filled with thick undergrowth.
