Bloodvine

This modest-sized leaf succulent grows up to 45 feet (13.7 meters) tall. The thin stem is brown, and is covered in thousands of fine, cream, hair-like spines. The knobbly leaves are either blood red or yellow, with silver patches. Handfuls of them grow on slender, moss green and gray-green branches that are very short and slender. The leaves are hardy, but take some effort to detach.

It is very slow growing, taking 8 years to reach maturity. Once mature, several flowers with alternating petals of blood red and blood red, with a black central disk grow at the top, reappearing every year. The flower head is made up of many petals; the lower layer of petals are flat, while the upper layers form a tight dish. It has a scent whose strength depends on external factors, such as soil quality and rain frequency that smells like citrus.

The leaf succulent's skin is tough, the hazel flesh is slimy, and the blood red sap is thin.
