Violet Fruit Tree

This average-sized fruit tree grows up to 11 feet (3.4 meters) tall and lives for up to 15 years, with the oldest known specimen being around 20 years old. It is very susceptible to disease and insect infestation.

It has a long and flexible, wonky trunk covered in fine, waxy, dark gray bark, and inside, the medium-dense wood is pale brown-grey.

The excessive amount of branches trail down towards the ground and are covered with large amounts of huge, slender, pointed leaves with jagged edges. The leaves themselves are found in white, violet and orange varieties.

In early spring, it produces a handful of medium-sized, green blossoms with circular shaped petals. They are hardy and have a powerful scent that smells like cotton.

In mid-summer it produces very large, long, tapering fruit. The rough purple skin is peel-able and inedible, and the crunchy drab red flesh is slightly spicy and very dry. The light brown seed is large and sits at the end of the fruit.

The roots form a tightly packed ball, and overall the tree is sturdy, flexible, and difficult to uproot or break.

Forests of this species feature the trees packed together, with the space between them filled with thick undergrowth.
