It takes 3 months for the orange-yellow stems to mature, by which point they have tangled themselves into thick mats with a diameter of 2 cm (0.8 inches) and are thick and twisted.
The stiff, pointed, leathery leaves reach up to 5 inches (13 cm) in length. They are solid turquoise with bronze lines, and have smooth edges.
During late spring, the bine produces a thick sheet of small blood red flowers.
It can grow in even the most barren lands.
It is suitable for use as a construction material
