Orange Glow Cactus

Succulent type: Stem succulent (Stores water in its stem)

This modest-sized cactus grows up to 14 feet (4.3 meters) tall. The needle-like stem is brown, and is covered in handfuls of rigid grey spines. The wedge-shaped body is orange, and is covered in sharp spines.

It is very slow growing, taking 2 years to reach maturity. Once mature, a single flower with green petals and a yellow center grows at the top, reappearing every year. The flower head is made up of several petals in raised layers. It has a scent that varies in strength that smells like rotten meat.

The cactus's skin is thin, the orange flesh is waxy, and the subtle red sap is thin.

It blooms only at night.
