Cyanara

Succulent type: Caudiciform (Stores water in the thickened base of its stem)

This giant caudiciform grows up to 28 feet (8.5 meters) tall. The needle-like stem is cyan, and is dotted with small white spines. The straight, brown trunk can grow to as much as 28 feet (8.5 meters) in diameter at the bottom. Its pink-red branches are short stubs and start growing at the top the stem.

The sparse amounts of serrated-edged, fan-like leaves are a shade of yellow that gradient shifts to violet at the top. They are light, and take little effort to detach.

It is steady-growing, taking 16 months to reach maturity. Once mature, and only under the right conditions, a handful of flowers, with petals that are gold in the center, orange in the middle and florescent yellow at the edges, grow at the top, reappearing after 4 years, but only when the conditions are right again. The flower head is shaped like a cube made up of 11 widely spaced, narrow petals. It has a powerful scent that smells like vanilla.

The caudiciform's skin is very thick, the silver flesh is soft, and the beige sap is thin.
