Shrub type: Deciduous (Grows along the ground or other low surfaces.)

This average-sized shrub grows up to 3 feet (91.4 cm) tall and lives for around 22 years. It is somewhat resistant to disease and destructive insect infestation.

It produces handfuls of small, red flowers with 8 heart-shaped shaped petals. They fall easily and have a fairly strong scent that smells like musk. In late spring it forms medium-sizedgold, tough-shelled seeds.
