Copperblossom Tree

This small tree grows up to 2 meters (6.6 feet) tall and lives for decades, with the oldest known specimen being around 51 years old. It is not very resistant to disease and destructive insect infestation.

It has a stocky, straight trunk covered in fine, wrinkled, dark brown bark, and inside, the hard wood is burgundy.

The branches are very long and slender and are covered with sparse amounts of sticky, miniature, broad, flat leaves with smooth edges. The leaves themselves are turquoise on the sides and silver at the center.

In early spring, it produces many tiny, copper blossoms with 4 pointed petals with a trumpet-shaped floral cup. They detach easily and have a strong scent that smells like mango.

In late summer it forms medium-sized, olive, tough-shelled seeds.

The roots grow as a near perfect mirror of the tree above, and overall the tree is sturdy and rigid.

Forests of this species feature the trees packed together densely, with the space between filled with undergrowth.
