Twistvine

This large tree grows up to 84 meters (275.6 feet) tall and lives for decades, with the oldest known specimen being around 105 years old. It is very resistant to disease and destructive insect infestation.

It has a narrow, twisting trunk covered in thick, wrinkled, black with white speckled bark, and inside, the very hard wood is yellow-brown.

The sparse amount of branches trail down towards the ground and are covered with small amounts of rough, huge, V-shaped leaves with wavy edges. The leaves themselves are found in turquoise, copper and orange varieties.

In early spring, it produces lots of small, brown blossoms with 8 crescent-shaped shaped petals. They are hardy and have no scent.

In late summer it forms tiny, red seed pods.

The roots are shallow and grow straight down, and overall the tree is sturdy and difficult to uproot.

Forests of this species feature well-spaced trees, with patches of undergrowth between them.
