Water Oak

This big tree grows up to 72 meters (236.2 feet) tall and lives for decades, with the oldest known specimen being around 123 years old. It is very resistant to disease but is susceptible to destructive insect infestation.

It has a flexible, slanted trunk covered in very thick, wrinkled, yellow-brown bark, and inside, the soft wood is gray.

The thin clumps of branches are short and thin and are covered with large amounts of rough, miniature, long, tapering leaves with serrated edges. The leaves themselves are cream and bold yellow.

In late summer it forms tiny, brown, shelled seeds.

The roots form a tightly packed ball, and overall the tree is rigid and brittle.

Forests of this species feature the trees packed together, with the space between filled with undergrowth.
