Violetbrush

This small shrub grows up to 1 foot (30.5 cm) tall and lives for decades, with the oldest known specimen being around 148 years old. It is susceptible to disease and destructive insect infestation.

It has many wide, straight stems covered in very thick, wrinkled, brown and grey bark, and the wood inside is pale brown-grey.

The branches are tall, rigid and upright that and are covered with large amounts of giant, very thick, leaves with irregular edges. The leaves themselves are violet on the sides and cream at the center, rigid and covered in fine hairs.

It produces handfuls of medium-sized, olive flowers with needle-like petals. They are hardy and have a delicate scent that smells like meat. In late autumn it forms medium-sizedblack, spiky-shelled seeds.
