Coppervine

Shrub type: Deciduous (Grows upwards by winding itself around other objects and plants.)

This enormous shrub grows up to 11 feet (3.4 meters) tall and lives for around 25 years. It is very susceptible to disease and insect infestation.

It has numerous knobbly, curved stems covered in thick, waxy, copper-coloured bark, and the wood inside is burgundy-brown.

The branches are short stubs that and are covered with small bunches of giant, spear shaped, leaves with irregular edges. The leaves themselves are green with green tips, tough and covered in fine hairs.

In early summer it produces a thick sheet of tiny, slate flowers with many layers of petals with a tube-like floral cup. They fall easily and have a scent that varies in strength that smells like vanilla.

It is suitable for creating fine, soft textiles
The leaves are slightly toxic, and very sour.
The stems are covered in large spikes.
It comes in 14 varieties, each with a different petal colour.
