Orange-Yellow
Flower type: Biennial (Stores water in its stem)This small flower grows up to 6 inches (15 cm) tall. Its orange-yellow stem is wispy and splits into many branching stems halfway up, and the miniature, purple or olive leaves are stiff, pointed with rounded edges. A pair of leaves grow at the base of the stem.
1 to 7 large flowers grow on alternate sides up the length of the stem. The flowers are 3 cm (1.2 inches) wide, with hazel petals on the lower layer and orange petals decorated with subtle red dots on the inner layer. The central disk is copper. The flower head is largely flat with many widely spaced round-tipped petals. They are hardy.
It has an overpowering scent that smells like musk, and it has very little pollen. It is a self-pollinator.
