Flower type: Annual (Stores water in its stem)This small flower grows up to 6 inches (15 cm) tall. Its gray-green stem is wispy and straight with a curved tip, and the tiny, copper and gray leaves are perforated with ripped edges. The leaves alternate on the stem.
Dozens of giant flowers grow in drooping bunches like grapes. The flowers are 2 cm (0.8 inches) wide, with each petal a slightly different shade of blue. The flower head is largely flat with 54 raised narrow petals. They fall easily.
It has a fairly strong scent that smells like onion, and it has excessive amounts of pollen, but it does not cause any allergic reactions. It is a self-pollinator.
