Bronzeberry

Fruit Tree type: Deciduous (Grows along the ground or other low surfaces.)

This short fruit tree grows up to 7 feet (2.1 meters) tall and lives for up to 20 years, with the oldest known specimen being around 37 years old. It is very resistant to disease but is susceptible to destructive insect infestation.

It has a very thick, crooked trunk covered in very thick, ridged, dark green bark, and inside, the very dense wood is dark brown.

The branches trail down towards the ground and are covered with large amounts of small, perforated leaves with toothed edges. The leaves themselves are solid bronze or dark brown, with pink streaks.

In early spring, it produces several giant, magenta blossoms with stiff, pointed petals with a bell-shaped floral cup. They are sturdy and have a strong scent that smells like a man.

In late summer it produces , stiff, pointed fruit. The clammy lime skin is stretchy and sweet, and the very soft red flesh is sweet and sour and juicy. The beige seed is large and is in the centre of the fruit.

The roots spread far and go deep underground, and overall the tree is rigid and weak, and breaks apart easily.

Forests of this species feature the trees packed together, with clear space between them.

It makes a distinctive sound when the wind blows through it.
