Heathland Slate Moss

This slate moss is commonly found growing in small clumps In heathlands.
It is average-sized, growing up to 4 inches (10 cm) tall. It forms in large clumps and they spread and grow quickly, and is very delicate.
When mature, emerald V-shaped capsules grow at the end of short, lime green sporophytes, eventually opening up during the late autumn to release thousands of spores; it does not cause any allergic reactions.
