Gray Crescentfern

This gray moss is commonly found blanketing small areas On trees, In bogs, and In heathlands.
It is short, growing up to 1 inch (3 cm) tall. It forms in small clumps, and is extremely rigid.
When mature, emerald crescent-shaped capsules grow at the end of short, lime green sporophytes, eventually opening up during the early autumn to release hundred of spores; it does not cause any allergic reactions.
