Bronzefruit Tree

This small fruit tree grows up to 9 feet (2.7 meters) tall and lives for up to 10 years, with the oldest known specimen being around 19 years old. It is very susceptible to disease and insect infestation.

It has a sturdy, slanted trunk covered in paper-thin, wrinkled, light gray bark, and inside, the medium-dense wood is yellow-brown.

The numerous branches trail down to the ground and are covered with large amounts of large, very narrow and elongated leaves with ripped edges. The leaves themselves are either orange, or bronze with red patches.

In early spring, it produces several giant, hazel blossoms with circular petals. They are very delicate and have a fairly strong scent that smells like petrol.

In early summer it produces small, oblong fruit. The waxy red skin is tough and inedible, and the slightly crunchy bronze flesh is extremely salty and juicy. The dark grey seeds are small and are scattered throughout the fruit.

The roots are long and grow straight down, and overall the tree is sturdy, flexible, and difficult to uproot or break.

Forests of this species feature trees spaced far apart, with the space between filled with undergrowth.
