Blue Moss

This blue moss is commonly found growing in tiny clumps On trees, and In heathlands.
It is modest-sized, growing up to 3 inches (8 cm) tall. It forms in extensive patches, and is extremely rigid; it dislikes being stepped on.
When mature, emerald spiral capsules grow at the end of short, lime green sporophytes, eventually opening up during the early winter to release thousands of spores; it can cause allergic reactions.
