Clinging Turquoisevine

This short shrub grows up to 1 foot (30.5 cm) tall and lives for around 40 years. It is susceptible to disease and destructive insect infestation.

It has numerous sturdy, straight stems covered in wrinkled, burgundy and brown bark, and the wood inside is yellow.

The branches are long, thin and wispy that and are covered with large amounts of large, pleated, leaves with smooth edges. The leaves themselves are orange on the sides and turquoise at the center, frail and crispy.

It produces hundreds of medium-sized, black flowers with fan-like petals. They are very delicate and have a scent whose strength depends on external factors, such as soil quality and rain frequency that smells like perfume. In late summer it forms medium-sizedindigo aril (seeds with fleshy covers).
