Turquoise

This short tree grows up to 2 meters (6.6 feet) tall and lives for centuries, with the oldest known specimen being around 658 years old. It is very resistant to disease and destructive insect infestation.

It has a wide, straight trunk covered in very thick, waxy, black bark, and inside, the medium-dense wood is pale brown-grey.

The branches are long and thin and are covered with sparse amounts of crispy, tiny, thin leaves with smooth edges. The leaves themselves are turquoise on the sides and blue at the center.

In early spring, it produces thousands of giant, red blossoms with perforated petals with a bell-shaped floral cup. They are hardy and have a delicate scent that smells like fish.

In late summer it forms medium-sized, caramel, tough-shelled seeds.

The roots are shallow and grow straight down, and overall the tree is sturdy, flexible, and difficult to uproot or break.

Forests of this species feature the trees packed together densely, with clear space between them.
