Magenta Tree
Tree type: Deciduous (Grows upwards by winding itself around other objects and plants.)This small tree grows up to 5 meters (16.4 feet) tall and lives for centuries, with the oldest known specimen being around 628 years old. It is very resistant to disease and destructive insect infestation.
It has a wide, wavy trunk covered in silky, gray bark, and inside, the very light wood is pine-coloured.
The small bunches of branches trail down across the ground and are covered with large amounts of crispy, miniature, spear shaped leaves with wavy edges. The leaves themselves are magenta at the bottom and blood red with silver edges at the top.
In early spring, it produces a handful of tiny, caramel blossoms with stiff, pointed petals with a bell-shaped floral cup. They are very delicate and have an overpowering scent that smells like an ocean breeze.
In late summer it forms large, olive, shelled seeds.
The roots are shallow and widely spread, and overall the tree is sturdy, flexible, and difficult to uproot or break.
Forests of this species feature the trees packed together, with grassy ground between them.
