Indigo Creeper

Climbing plant type: Creeper (Grows along the ground or other low surfaces.)

This average-sized creeper is a steady-growing plant, with the largest known specimen reaching a length of 30 feet (9.1 meters) and growing as high as 102 feet (31.1 meters).

It takes 2 years for the brown stems to mature, by which point they have often fused together into ropes with a diameter of 3 inches (8 cm) and are smooth and fuzzy.

The broad, flat, rough leaves reach up to 1.2 feet (36 cm) in length. They are found in silver and beige varieties, and have serrated edges.

During late spring, the creeper produces hundreds of large indigo flowers.
