Red Coral Succulent

Succulent type: Caudiciform (Stores water in the thickened base of its stem)

This modest-sized caudiciform grows up to 30 feet (9.1 meters) tall. The very thin stem is red, and is covered in sharp spines. It has a straight, wide, intense orange trunk atop a flat block of smooth, exposed roots. The branches are thin and yellow and are short, rigid and upright.

The toothed-edged, broad, flat leaves are crimson on the sides and hazel at the center. They are light, and do not detach easily.

It is slow growing, taking 34 years to reach maturity. Once mature, a single flower with solid intense red petals decorated with deep green lines and a caramel central disk grows at the top, reappearing once every 6 years. The flower head is an uncoordinated mess of 21 curved petals. It has a soft scent that smells like perfume.

The caudiciform's skin is very thick, the pink flesh is sticky, and the beige sap is thin.

It is suitable for creating tough, hard-wearing textiles
