Spined Pinkleaf

Succulent type: Leaf succulent (Stores water in its leaves)

This average-sized leaf succulent grows up to 66 feet (20.1 meters) tall. The needle-like stem is silver, and is covered in dozens of rigid red spines. The smooth-edged, thick leaves are pink and light brown. Small bunches of them grow from the base in alternating layers of 2, then 4, then 6, and so on. The leaves are tough, but easily come away when pulled.

It is steady-growing, taking 11 months to reach maturity. Once mature, a single flower with petals that are aquamarine on the underside and white on the top grows at the top, reappearing every year. The flower head is shaped like a trumpet made up of 16 raised, round-tipped petals. It has an intensely strong scent that smells like cotton.

The leaf succulent's skin is thick, the cream flesh is rough, and the azure sap is thin.

It comes in 58 varieties.
It can flourish even in standing water.
All parts of the fruit tree are edible.
It is suitable for creating tough, hard-wearing textiles
