Copper Heath Moss

This copper moss is commonly found growing in tiny clumps In heathlands.
It is modest-sized, growing up to 3 inches (8 cm) tall. It forms in large clumps, and is extremely rigid.
When mature, emerald oval-shaped capsules grow at the end of short, lime green sporophytes, eventually opening up during the late autumn to release thousands of spores.
