Spineleaf Succulent

Succulent type: Caudiciform (Stores water in the thickened base of its stem)

This small caudiciform grows up to 4 feet (1.2 meters) tall. The sickle shaped stem is moss green, and is covered in sharp spines. It has a twisting, round, light grey trunk atop a wide tripod of rough, exposed roots. The branches are round and pink-red and are tall, rigid and upright.

The tattered-edged, slender, pointed leaves are beige and amber. They are delicate, and easily come away when pulled.

It is very slow growing, taking 28 years to reach maturity. Once mature, several flowers with each petal a slightly different shade of caramel grow at the top, reappearing every year. The flower head is shaped like a dish made up of 7 tightly layered, narrow petals. It has a delicate scent that smells like cigarette smoke.

The caudiciform's skin is extremely thick, the olive flesh is rough, and the cyan sap is thin.

The entire flower is edible and extremely bitter.
Their seeds have hallucinogenic properties.
It is suitable for making paper
It aggressively steals nutrients from other large plants (but not each other).
