Purple Spike Cactus

Succulent type: Stem succulent (Stores water in its stem)

This modest-sized cactus grows up to 47 feet (14.3 meters) tall. The very thick stem is brown, and is covered in large amounts of rigid pastel purple spines.

It is steady-growing, taking 23 months to reach maturity. Once mature, several flowers with petals that are generally gold; each flower tends to be a variation of this colour grow at the top, reappearing once every 10 years. The flower head is largely flat with several tightly layered round-tipped petals. It has an intense scent that smells like misty mornings.

The cactus's skin is thin, the pastel purple flesh is rubbery, and the light grey sap is thin.

It only grows on the most fertile lands.
It is suitable for creating flexible, durable textiles
