Waterpine
Fruit Tree type: Deciduous (Stores water in the thickened base of its stem)This short fruit tree grows up to 9 feet (2.7 meters) tall and lives for up to 30 years, with the oldest known specimen being around 62 years old. It is very resistant to destructive insect infestation but susceptible to disease.
It has a stocky, straight trunk covered in waxy, yellow bark, and inside, the very hard wood is pine-coloured.
The sparse amount of branches are short, rigid and upright and are covered with small amounts of huge, spear shaped leaves with toothed edges. The leaves themselves are blue and lime.
In early spring, it produces thick bunches of tiny, copper blossoms with broad, flat petals with a tube-like floral cup. They fall easily and have a delicate scent that smells like bleach.
In late summer it produces small, pleated fruit. The soft sky blue skin is thick and overwhelmingly savoury, and the crunchy crimson flesh is spicy and very dry. The bronze seeds are large and are scattered throughout the fruit.
The roots are long and grow straight down, and overall the tree is sturdy and difficult to uproot.
Forests of this species feature well-spaced trees, with clear space between them.

It absorbs an exceptionally large amount of water each day.
The grass is bitter and overwhelmingly toxic and while grains are savoury and non-toxic.
