Burgundy Silverspin Tree

Tree type: Deciduous (Stores water in the thickened base of its stem)

This large tree grows up to 84 meters (275.6 feet) tall and lives for decades, with the oldest known specimen being around 171 years old. It is not very resistant to disease and destructive insect infestation.

It has a flexible, straight trunk covered in paper-thin, silky, burgundy and brown bark, and inside, the flexible wood is dark brown.

The branches are very long and thick and are covered with very large amounts of waxy, tiny, asymmetrical leaves with jagged edges. The leaves themselves are either white or blue, with sky blue zig-zags.

In late summer it forms giant, silver, winged seeds that spin and fall nearby.

The roots are shallow and grow straight down, and overall the tree is sturdy and rigid.

Forests of this species feature the trees packed together, with the space between them filled with thick undergrowth.

It is suitable for use as a construction material
