Silverbell

Shrub type: Deciduous (Stores water in its stem)

This small shrub grows up to 1 foot (30.5 cm) tall and lives for around 25 years. It is not very resistant to disease and destructive insect infestation.

It has numerous narrow, straight stems covered in ridged, silver and white bark, and the wood inside is gray.

The branches trail down to the ground with hundreds of twigs that and are covered with small bunches of tiny, broad, flat, leaves with smooth edges. The leaves themselves are dark blue on the sides and indigo at the center, delicate and sticky.

In late summer it produces thick bunches of small, brown flowers with needle-like petals with a bell-shaped floral cup. They detach easily and have a delicate scent that smells like cinnamon.


It has impressive regenerative properties.
It blooms only at night.
It is suitable for creating strong, durable textiles
