Mahogany Spire Tree

Tree type: Deciduous (Grows along the ground or other low surfaces.)

This colossal tree grows up to 111 meters (364.2 feet) tall and lives for centuries, with the oldest known specimen being around 394 years old. It is very susceptible to disease and insect infestation.

It has a branched, straight trunk covered in hard, ridged, mahogany-coloured bark, and inside, the medium-dense wood is mahogany-coloured.

The branches are short and thin and are covered with large amounts of clammy, tiny, perforated leaves with rounded edges. The leaves themselves are either lime, or light brown with azure edges.

In late summer it forms tiny, brown, spiky-shelled seeds.

The roots are long and grow straight down, and overall the tree is rigid and brittle.

Forests of this species feature the trees packed together, with patches of undergrowth between them.

It is suitable for creating tough, hard-wearing textiles
It coexists peacefully with other plants.
