Crimson Vine
Flower type: Annual (Grows upwards by winding itself around other objects and plants.)This big flower grows up to 4.4 feet (1.3 meters) tall. Its orange stem is very thick and straight, and the small, brown and yellow leaves are asymmetrical with irregular edges. A pair of leaves grow at the base of the flower head.
A single tiny flower sits at the end of the stem. The flowers are 11 cm (4.3 inches) wide, with crimson petals and a dark grey central disk. The flower head is shaped like a tube with 48 widely spaced, narrow petals. They fall easily.
It has an overpowering scent that smells like pine needles, and it has very little pollen; it can cause severe allergic reactions. It is a self-pollinator.
It can grow in even the most barren lands.
All parts of the tree are edible.
It is suitable for creating strong, durable textiles
