Lightning Vine

Climbing plant type: Creeper (Grows along the ground or other low surfaces.)

This modest-sized creeper is a steady-growing plant, with the largest known specimen reaching a length of 35 feet (10.7 meters) and growing as high as 150 feet (45.7 meters).

It takes 5 years for the green stems to mature, by which point they can reach a diameter of 3 inches (8 cm) and are thick and twisted.

The umbrella-shaped, fuzzy leaves reach up to 10 inches (25 cm) in length. They are grey at the bottom and crimson with cyan zig-zags at the top, and have smooth edges.

During late spring, the creeper produces hundreds of small white flowers, and during the early winter, after flowering, it produces copious amounts of tiny seed pods.

It is frequently struck by lightning.
All of it is said to be part of one single, massive plant.
It is often home to a particular bird species.
It is suitable for making paper
