Waterstem Shrubby

Shrub type: Deciduous (Stores water in the thickened base of its stem)

This enormous shrub grows up to 14 feet (4.3 meters) tall and lives for around 95 years. It is somewhat resistant to disease and destructive insect infestation.

It has numerous wide, angular stems covered in hard, ridged, silver and white bark, and the wood inside is gray.

The branches are short and thick that and are covered with large amounts of miniature, wispy, leaves with toothed edges. The leaves themselves are found in lilac, blue and slate varieties, delicate and sticky.

In late summer it produces dozens of medium-sized, lime flowers with circular petals. They detach easily and have a scent that varies in strength that smells like a man.

It is possible to grow it from cuttings.
It is suitable for making strong rope
It usually houses a colony of beneficial insects.
