Thorned Agave

This massive leaf succulent grows up to 149 feet (45.4 meters) tall. The tapering stem is gray-green, and is covered in copious amounts of flexible yellow spines. The stumpy leaves are brown at the bottom and light grey with gold patches at the top. Sparse amounts of them grow on thin, silver branches that are short, rigid and upright. The leaves are durable, but take some effort to detach.

It is fast growing, taking 7 months to reach maturity. Once mature, a single flower with petals that are slate on the edges and caramel at the center grows at the top, reappearing once every 5 years. The flower head is shaped like a tube with 45 tightly layered, round-tipped petals. It has a strong scent that smells like new carpet.

The leaf succulent's skin is tough, the blue flesh is slimy, and the purple sap is thin.
