Waterstem Pine
Tree type: Coniferous (Stores water in its stem)This small tree grows up to 6 meters (19.7 feet) tall and lives for over 3,000 years, with the oldest known specimen being around 3638 years old. It is not very resistant to disease and destructive insect infestation.
It has a very thick, angular trunk covered in thin, wrinkled, gray bark, and inside, the flexible wood is brown.
The thick clumps of branches are short, rigid and upright, with hundreds of twigs covered with large amounts of huge, lime green needles. The needles themselves are flexible.
In late summer it produces medium-sized, light brown seed pods.
The roots are fine and grow in a large web, and overall the tree is rigid and weak, and breaks apart easily.
Forests of this species feature the trees packed together, with clear space between them.
It is suitable for making baskets and the like
It is very resistant to fire damage.
