The branches are short, rigid and upright with thousands of twigs that and are covered with large amounts of tiny, slender, pointed, leaves with wavy edges. The leaves themselves are magenta on the sides and lilac at the center, sturdy and soft.
In mid-summer it produces large amounts of medium-sized, peach blossoms with many layers of petals with a trumpet-shaped floral cup. They are sturdy and have an intense scent that smells like warm cookies.
In midwinter wide fruits ripen. The smooth brown skin is stretchy and inedible, and the crunchy magenta flesh is sweet and powdery. The black seed is small and sits at the top of the fruit.
