Emerald Crescent Moss

Moss type: Moss

This lime green and light brown moss is commonly found blanketing tiny areas In moorlands, On trees, and On rotten logs.
It is small, growing up to 1 inch (3 cm) tall. It forms in small clumps, and is very hardy.
When mature, emerald crescent-shaped capsules grow at the end of elongated, lime green sporophytes, eventually opening up during the early autumn to release thousands of spores; it does not cause many allergic reactions.


It can flourish even in standing water.
It aggressively steals nutrients from other large plants (but not each other).
It is suitable for creating tough, hard-wearing textiles
