Sylvan Maple

Tree type: Deciduous (Stores water in its stem)

This small tree grows up to 3 meters (9.8 feet) tall and lives for centuries, with the oldest known specimen being around 644 years old. It is very resistant to disease and destructive insect infestation.

It has a sturdy, curved trunk covered in rough, silver and white bark, and inside, the flexible wood is white with black speckles.

The small clumps of branches are short and thin and are covered with large amounts of crispy, tiny, broad, flat leaves with smooth edges. The leaves themselves are ashy purple and orange.

In late summer it forms small, bronze, winged seeds that spin and fall nearby.

The roots grow as a near perfect mirror of the tree above, and overall the tree is rigid and weak, and breaks apart easily.

Forests of this species feature trees spaced far apart, with the space between them filled with thick undergrowth.

It is suitable for use as a construction material
