Turquoise

Shrub type: Coniferous (Stores water in the thickened base of its stem)

This short shrub grows up to 1 foot (30.5 cm) tall and lives for decades, with the oldest known specimen being around 145 years old. It is susceptible to disease and destructive insect infestation.

It has dozens of long and flexible, twisting stems covered in very thick, ridged, black bark, and the wood inside is dark brown.

The branches trail down to the ground that and are covered with small amounts of giant, asymmetrical, leaves with serrated edges. The leaves themselves are either turquoise or gold, with crimson patches, delicate and soft.

In late spring it produces thick bunches of tiny, bronze flowers with teardrop-shaped shaped petals. They fall easily and have an overpowering scent that smells like apple.

It is possible to grow it from cuttings.
It is suitable for making baskets and the like
It spreads easily and often blanket large areas.
