Gray Moss

This gray moss is commonly found blanketing small areas In bogs, On rotten logs, and In moorlands.
It is short, growing up to 1 inch (3 cm) tall. It forms in small clumps, and is very flimsy.
When mature, emerald teardrop-shaped capsules grow at the end of elongated, lime green sporophytes, eventually opening up during the early autumn to release thousands of spores; it can cause allergic reactions.
