Violet Fruit Tree
Fruit Tree type: Deciduous (Stores water in its leaves)This short fruit tree grows up to 7 feet (2.1 meters) tall and lives for up to 35 years, with the oldest known specimen being around 81 years old. It is very resistant to destructive insect infestation but susceptible to disease.
It has a very thick, wavy trunk covered in fine, wrinkled, brown and grey bark, and inside, the dense wood is brown.
The branches are short and thin and are covered with copious amounts of small, stiff, pointed leaves with rounded edges. The leaves themselves are found in lime and violet varieties.
In early spring, it produces hundreds of small, caramel blossoms with asymmetrical petals with a tube-like floral cup. They detach easily and have an overpowering scent that smells like blood.
In late autumn it produces small, wide fruit. The clammy pink skin is peel-able and sweet, and the slightly crunchy copper flesh is sour and dry. The brown seeds are tiny and are bunched at the bottom of the fruit.
The roots grow as a near perfect mirror of the tree above, and overall the tree is sturdy, flexible, and difficult to uproot or break.
Forests of this species feature well-spaced trees, with clear space between them.
It is suitable for use as a construction material
It releases hallucinogenic smoke when burned.
