Yellow Petal Flower
Flower type: Perennial (Stores water in the thickened base of its stem)This massive flower grows up to 14.1 feet (4.3 meters) tall. Its yellow stems grow in bunches of 6 and are very thin and straight, and the small, green leaves are pleated with smooth edges. The leaves alternate on the stem from the base up to about halfway.
Two small flowers sit at the end of the stem. The flowers are 55 cm (21.7 inches) wide, with petals that are generally brown; each flower tends to be a variation of this colour. The flower head is an uncoordinated mess of 55 curved petals. They are very delicate.
It has a delicate scent that smells like fresh linen, and it has lots of pollen; it does not cause many allergic reactions. It is pollinated by a small species of bird, but is also particularly attractive to insects.
It is suitable for making baskets and the like
