Waterleaf

This short shrub grows up to 1 foot (30.5 cm) tall and lives for around 23 years. It is somewhat resistant to disease and destructive insect infestation.

It has many knobbly, straight stems covered in hard, knobbly, brown and grey bark, and the wood inside is mahogany-coloured.

The branches are short, rigid and upright with dozens of twigs that and are covered with sparse amounts of small, thin, leaves with ripped edges. The leaves themselves are lilac and azure, delicate and leathery.

In early summer it produces balls of small, brown flowers with oval-shaped shaped petals. They are hardy and have an overpowering scent that smells like freshly baked bread.
