Lilac

This short bine is a fast growing plant, with the largest known specimen reaching a length of 10 feet (3.0 meters) and growing as high as 121 feet (36.9 meters).

It takes 7 months for the gray stems to mature, by which point they sometimes have a diameter of 2 cm (0.8 inches) and are thick and twisted.

The pleated, rough leaves reach up to 6 inches (15 cm) in length. They are lilac on the edges and lime at the center, and have toothed edges.

During late spring, the bine produces several small cream flowers, and during the late summer, after flowering, it produces plenty of large seed pods.
