Gray Moss

This gray moss is commonly found blanketing small areas In moorlands, and In damp forests.
It is large, growing up to 6 inches (15 cm) tall. It forms in thin clumps and they spread and grow quickly, and is very strong; it can easily endure being trodden on.
When mature, emerald triangular capsules grow at the end of short, lime green sporophytes, eventually opening up during the mid-autumn to release thousands of spores.
