Purplestem Grass

This short, gray-green grass grows up to 1 foot (30.5 cm) tall. The wispy stalks grow in thin clumps that are resistant and they are exceptionally hardy.

When mature, the end of the stem eventually transforms into a giant, drab purple flower.

During the early autumn, it produces a fair amount of pollen; it does not cause many allergic reactions, and after flowering, it is left with plenty of small grains.
