Red Velvet Succulent

This large leaf succulent grows up to 82 feet (25.0 meters) tall. The wispy stem is moss green and dark brown, and is dotted with small slate spines. The irregular-edged, thin leaves are a shade of red that gradient shifts to brown at the top. Small bunches of them grow from the base like rose petals. The leaves are delicate, but take little effort to detach.

It is very fast growing, taking 2 months to reach maturity. Once mature, and only under the right conditions, a handful of flowers, with petals that are aquamarine on the underside and blue on the top, grow at the top, reappearing after 6 years, but only when the conditions are right again. The flower head is made up of 11 petals in raised layers. It has a mildly strong scent that smells like a damp log.

The leaf succulent's skin is very thick, the beige flesh is sticky, and the red sap is thin.
